Tender Roots provides an Assessment, Monitoring & Consultation service for babies and young children age 0 - 3 years. This service is suited to little ones presenting with communication, play &/ or social differences. It is particularly suited where there may be a query regarding Autism or social communication difference. Support is also available to parents and baby/ babies who may have experienced trauma during the the gestational, birth or early infant period.
Tender Roots encompasses a nurturing, child led, gentle & positive approach. Assessments, sessions & consultations are respectful of the emotional needs & wellbeing of each individual little one, to ensure anxiety & stress is reduced for both the parents & the little one.
The service ethos is to support & empower parents & carers to identify their child's profile, & together with the Therapist determine which strategies & supports will suit their child's individual needs and development. A strong emphasis is placed on parent/ carer & child attachment & wellbeing, together with nurturing strengths & development, especially for the babies.
The Assessment, Review & Consultation service also allows the parents/ carers & Therapist as a team to determine if any further referrals or assessments are warranted.
Initial assessment for 0-3 years, with pre-information gathering & a direct parent- child based session. Includes verbal feedback & initial recommendations.
Available following assessment, at appropriate agreed intervals. These sessions monitor & review the little ones profile, & also provide support & appropriate strategies.
Observational visit, with consultation available if required.
Support is available to parents & their baby/ babies who may have experienced a traumatic pregnancy, birth &/ or early infant period, or premature birth. This provides support around nurturing the little ones development, as well as attachment.
All assessments & sessions are home visit based. This is due to parents, babies & young children being more comfortable in their home environment & it being more reflective of their true profile & needs. At the early ages & stages parent support & coaching is also the most effective input, & home sessions facilitate this.
